I got twenty new USB flash drives that we're using for distributing videos. Eighteen of the twenty work fine but two do not. The two that don't function show up in Disk Management with properly-assigned drive letters but both read "No Media" matching the behavior of a DVD drive with no disk inserted. Can these be saved or must I throw them out? Discarding anything you spent even a little money on is painful for a nonprofit museum. Despite much searching online I've not found anything that's better than "change the drive letter" which achieves nothing, even after a reboot. Anyone?
The PC is a Dell Optiplex 755 running Windows 7 with all updates and the driver (verified as the latest driver available) are both known to be good.
