Hello,
I have an extremely odd problem that I can not figure out. I have an XFX Double D HD 7870 for my gpu, and it runs all games extremely well, however my issue is with its temperature. For a long time I have been dealing with hot temps and a loud fan. My temps would usually average around 85C, and during games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 would go up to 92 C. However, yesterday I updated the program I used to monitor my temps, which is TechPowerUp GPU. After that my temps did not pass 60C at all in any game I played, even Fallout 4 and Skyrim, and my fans were extremely quiet. I do not know why it did this, however this morning I went back onto my computer, and installed a driver update from AMD, and now my temps are back where they were before at the high end (85C-92C). I just reinstalled from fresh my graphics card and the drivers it came with, but it still is not working. Does anyone know why this is happening? and how to solve it? I tried replacing my thermal paste as well as bought multiple replacement fans, but nothing is working.
Thank You.

Hello,

It could be a faulty fan causing it, or an overheating issue with the crimson drivers. When you reverted back to older drivers, didnt the problem go away?

We should have replacement coolers for this model, please make a ticket at xfxsupport.com and request a replacement Fan Shroud.
