I was looking up on how people connect specifically their dreamcast through their PC monitors with VGA, and heard how the image quality looks really good, but what I want to know is, Will it look good connecting this system in 1080p on this monitor I have? If so what cable would you recommend?

Due note that theres no RCA audo ports on the back of my monitor, just a VGA port, HDMI and DVI port..so is that going to be a problem with audio, despite having my monitor conected with some external speakers?

Honestly I wouldn't bother. Regardless of what display you connect the console too, it is going to render at the same resolution. Older consoles like that didn't support a wide range of resolutions like modern consoles do. You may get some image quality improvement if the display takes the images and upscales them to 1080p, but the end result may look more blurry than on a basic CRT TV.

If you are set on trying this, however, you can find adapters and converters all over the Internet. I'm not going to recommend one because depending on your location the price will vary, there are hundreds of different ones, and for the most part they tend to work without problem. It would be more expensive, but if you do it, then it is probably best...

It would be more expensive, but if you do it, then it is probably best you find a ADC to go from the RCA connections to HDMI so that you can have audio. It will cost more, but it is either that or a VGA adapter and you still need to connect an audio input somewhere.

So its basically the same case as if someone tries to connect an n64 or ps1 to an 1080p HDTV, looking all blurry compare to an old SD tv right? If thats the case then yea, no point for me then since I'm using an old TV for my retro systems.
