I would love it if I could get some advice on my build. I do NOT want to OC. I mainly want to use this build for CSGO, some rocket league and fallout 4. My budget is $1,230. I want to get 250+ fps on CS:GO. This is my build so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CZP94D

I am thinking about getting a better GPU, but do not want to have to deal with a very hot card. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest the R9 390. Runs a bit better than the GTX 970 and is slightly cheaper. The card will be a little hotter, shouldn't really go over 70C, but can handle up to 85C before thermal throttling kicks in. The cooling system MSI has on theirs is quite good, and Gigabyte's Windforce is pretty good as well. Could just go with the 970 if you wanted though.

#1: The human eye cannot detect really anything above 60 FPS, so 250+ FPS will get you no where visually.

#2 : General situation here is AMD cards usually run hotter than there equivalent on the Geforce Side

#3: I would defenitly recommend get the 4GB 970 or 980 it will be a help

The human eye can detect smoothness, and it is MUCH more smooth with high fps. I have a 144 hz moniter, making it that much more smooth. Look it up.

ok thanks

Of course the refresh rate of your monitor, will affect it, but seriously, if you can play normally then go for it. If your spending thousands of dollars, for just your game to look smooth, your not focusing on the main point your playing that game.

Obviously you have never played CS:GO competitively....

In CS:GO, probably nothing. In other more demanding games like Fallout 4, it can help with the speed of textures coming in, and overall smoothness of the game. Will also help perform everyday tasks faster, but not by an abundance.

First of all, smoothness is based on 2 things. #1: A higher amount of FPS is a major one, but at some point it gets obselete.

#2: If it is constant then it will be smooth. you try playing at game at 70 FPS then immediately drop to 50, you will definitely see some stuttering there.

I have played CS:GO if you have low frame rates why bother playing. You need smoothness to play
