CD/DVD readed and burner

Hi, i'm building my first gaming computer, and I want to buy a CD/DVD reader/ burner, but i'm not sure what i'm supposed to be looking for. I'm not going to be using it a lot, but I will need it sometime. So does it need to be compatible with my computer or are all of them the same? Please help.

The cheap ones are all about the same quality. You should be looking at the read/write speeds to compare performance. As little as I use them, I just go with whatever is cheapest. I've used Samsung, LG, and ASUS with good results. Make sure it's a SATA and not an old IDE drive.
