I have an ASUS all-in -one computer (ET2401) I think the price point is just about right for getting an SSD, but don't know if this is going to be a difficult upgrade. I recently replaced my memory cards and didn't see where the hard drive was.
So my question is this: where is the hard drive, and what size is it, (2.5 or 3.5")?
Also I was wondering if I went from a 1tb to a 500gb ssd, if that is ok. I don't have more than 200gb on my current hard drive.

Solution
Depends on the AIO. If you go into Disk Manager and then go under Hard Disk and get the model number and look it up it will tell you if it is a 3.5 or 2.5. Most AIO's are 3.5. Shouldn't be too hard to swap out. Will have to take back off of AIO, get a 3.5 to 2.5 HDD adapter probably, but won't know till you open it up. As far as it working there should be no issue with a SSD working with it just mounting it.

The hardware part is always "fun" to me, Taking apart a smart phone is hairly but an AIO, as long as you got the tools and the patience. Worst come worse, you will need to add a 3.5 to 2.5 bracket. Consult the manual, there maybe as easy as an existing m2 slot in there. The software part, hope you have a way to "clone" the old drive.

That answers your own question.
