upgrade from a geforce gt 520 to a gefroce gt 740

I have try to upgrade from a gt 520 to gt 740 when i boot up with the 740 i get nothing but the load screen when i press esc button it goes dark. my computer motherboard is a m3970 am it does run pci 16x 2.0 can some one help with this. ty also my psu is 750

Make sure the GT 740 is seated properly. It could be that your card is PCI-E 3.0 only, or just doesn't like your motherboard. It happens. Check your motherboard manufacturer to see if there are any new BIOS versions to address GPU compatibility. If you are running on the latest BIOS and the card still isn't working then you need to return the card.
