Hey guys I'm trying to build a new pc for christmas, my budget is about 500 dollars (i can go up to 600 if needed)
My current build is
AMD FX 6200
Asus M5A78L-MLX Plus
Gtx 660Ti msi twin frzer edition
8gb ram from corsair vengance (x2)
500GB hard drive
500W PSU from Rosewill
The case is a Cooler Master CMP-350 Mid Atx Tower

My question is if I should build a completely new PC or just give it some upgrades, I'm currently having some thermal throttling with My cpu as it maxes at 65 degrees when I'm running titles like Arkham Knight or Dying Light. I read on some forums here that a new cooler for my CPU should really do the trick and I was looking at the CM Hyper Evo 212 for the cooling but I don't know if it'll fit into my case.

Update: I'm going with the moderator's help guys, but I will definitely get the Cyroig H7 for my cooler after looking at the performance stats

The hyper 212 will not fit your case. Your graphics card is still fairly decent, and not that far behind many current upper midrange cards. I would suggest upgrading the rest of your system, reusing ram, HDD, and case.

Your build is fine for now, get a Hyper Evo 212. it will fit in your cabinet, and the ram slots will be free as well.

To get a real improvement, you´d be looking at either GTX 970 for $300 or GTX 980TI for $600
And addition to that, you´d probably want new cpu, mobo and possibly rams as well.

I´d get the evo 212 and possibly an SSD if you don´t have one already.

Cryorig H7. Slightly more expensive, like $7 more usually, but outperforms the hyper212 in every way from performance to mount ease, has 0 ram clearance issues and is only 145mm tall vrs the 160mm of the hyper212.

I'd also suggest bumping up storage to an SSD primary with the 500 as mass storage.

I'd also suggest some OC if you haven't already. FX Cpus thrive on OC, and getting that cpu up around 4.0GHz or better will help in fps.

For game streaming gameplay, I would jump up to a 1231v3, which will still fit in your budget. It is basically an i7 4770, without integrated graphics.

Yea I was quite disappointed when I heard the news that 1230v5 was not going to be compatible with H170 and Z170 chipsets. :(
