Setting up Powerline Adapters

Hi, I have a twin pack of 3 port powerline adapters.

One I have connected to my PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

The other I have connected to my router.

The question is should I have three cables going from the power line adapter to the router because I am using all three ports on the other adapter? I know it works fine at the moment but i just wanted to know if I could improve speed by giving it three ports rather than one or do the powerline adapters not work that way?

Any help much appreciated!

I know that it works like this but if I was to connect more devices I was curious to know if I would get a decrease in performance because it is running off one port from the router rather than three.

if the adapters are gigabit then you shouldn't notice any kind of slowdown since the only device that would come close to using that much bandwidth would be the PC doing a file transfer, the xbox and PlayStation don't use any bandwidth other than the speed of your internet when they're downloading games. so picture your computer using about 80% or more of the 'bandwidth pie chart' and that's ONLY if you're transferring files to another device on the network

the only time i MIGHT see an issue here, is if you stream videos to one of the consoles, and IF that goes through the adapters, to the router, and then back again, then you might need a second cord, but probably not 3.

I'm planning on using my PC as a media station so it is likely that I'd be streaming the content to my TV and things like that, Would the adapter work correctly if I plug in another cable and would it actually utilise that line?

The only way you'd get a faster connection is if you get a faster spec powerline adapters. Hooking up more ports to the router will do nothing at best and will cause network crashes at worse.
