CPU: Intel i5-6600k 3.5 Ghz Skylake
Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero LG1151
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw V DDR4-2400 (8gb x2)
Storage: Seagate 2TB SSHD
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
OS Version: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

I have read SO many troubleshooting things on this Corsair product, and either they aren't what I am looking for OR just flat out haven't worked.

I have my Corsair H100i GTX plugged into the CPU_Fan header and the USB portion plugged into an internal USB header. My problem/issue/concern whatever it may be occurs when it shows the RPMs which are only 800-850 and I assume that's the pump(?).

I don't have any cooling issues currently, but...according to other peoples posts they are having issues getting theirs to run at full speed and getting hung up at 1500 RPMs so I would really like for it to be functioning properly.

Also the Corsair Link software for some reason isn't even recognizing my H100i GTX at all, so all the adjustments I have done are in the BIOS. I went in, CPU Fan, set it to PWM/Manual 100% and it still didn't go up in speed. So I am at a complete loss at the moment and have no idea what to do.

I have had very little success with Corsair Link. Just seems to work when it wants to. Try older versions.

Yes that should be the pump speed. If you have plugged the fans into the Corsair headers then those speeds should also show up in Corsair Link. The motherboard may have a setting you should look into that will add a multiplier to the incoming RPMs so that the pump will register a more realistic value. This may in fact be the problem for those who show a static value.

The CPU Fan in the BIOS will not affect the H100 at all as that is just so the BIOS sees a CPU fan attached to it, otherwise it would freak out that the CPU fan is not working.

If the Link software is not showing the H100i then you need to do the troubleshooting at that point because it should see it. In fact I have yet to have my Link software not see the H100i except when Windows 8.1 first came out and I needed to make a change to the registry.

I would uninstall the Link software and reinstall the latest version.

@Eximo - I do have the radiator fans plugged into the corsair splitter, and then then from the water block to the CPU_Fan header - However those 2 fans don't show up either in my BIOS or AI Suite the only fans showing ANY RPMs are: The pump (800-850 RPM) and my original top fan I mounted on the side of the case and plugged into the CHA_Fan header and it fluctuates as well around 500-600 RPMs.

@jimmysmitty - Ah okay, I understand, wasn't sure because I had read a ton of people saying changing to PWM/Manual 100% worked for them, but I was confused because it didn't do a single thing for me. Link software, I have uninstalled everything Corsair related, drivers and all and reinstalled to still get nothing. Tried it a few times....

1.) Fresh install, old bios, etc
2.) Updated BIOS, made sure AI Suite wasn't running to conflict with anything

Also I don't know if this matters at all but it also doesn't register the LED light color changing? I really don't care about the color at the moment but....if it helps anyone maybe understand?

I use a Razer Deathadder Chroma

Also if it matters, Astro A50 Headset, Logitech G710+ Keyboard, Logitech C920 Webcam

If you don't mind me asking, how come that makes a difference?? I will be trying it now, must I reboot to take hold?

You might need to reboot.

It can make a difference since they both use the USB hub and it could interfere. The people I saw had a Logitech mouse but I have seen Razers own software cause issues with other non-Razer devices. Had a friend who could not use his USB headset because the Razer software caused to to freak out.

USB 2.0/3.0/3.1 cross compatibility is still an issue that comes up often. There are various software and driver issues when mixing USB generations. I have a weird one where plugging in a USB 2.0 flash drive into a USB 2.0 controller makes my mouse poll at half the rate, but no issues with the front panel USB 3.0

On the hardware side there are problems mostly to due with power delivery. Older equipment (or just lazy developers) will not adhere to the new standards that USB 3.0 requires. Usually comes down to a resistor value in the I/O. What happens is that the hub controller gets an out of range value for power requirements, and some device designs flip a bit that disallows communication against an unknown power requirement. Protection to prevent the hub from trying to deliver more power then it is capable, but really troublesome when you run into newer computers that don't even offer a single USB 2.0 port.

The reason for that is because they are different controllers. Most USB 2 controllers are all one from AMD or Intel. USB 3 is as well now with a few extras from a different company.

USB itself was more designed with peripherals in mind and not datas or storage, thats why Thunderbolt is so interesting to me.

For the OP the issue is probably that the mouse is interfering with (or keyboard) the H100is ability to read data from the USB channel.

Okay so currently....

Keyboard (uses 2 USB) - Both into 3.0
Mouse - Into 3.1
Webcame - Into 2.0

Previously

Keyboard - 3.0
Mouse - 2.0
Webcam - 3.1

I didn't want to mix up the 2 keyboard ones across different USB ports, unless it doesn't matter?? Then I will certainly change it! Just made sense in my head that's all! I do not see any changes though with the Corsair Link

Not really the reason, more that of course they are different controllers. And they can be made my pretty much any company. Intel and AMD chipsets include some USB controllers. When the port requirements exceed what the chipset can handle the mobo manufacturer can add some and they generally do. Early USB 3.0 controllers came out before the official standard and are often slower then the actual rating. I think I have two motherboards with that particular issue.

USB was designed in mind for anything, thus its name... USB 3.1 pretty much covers the options now. Power, Ethernet, Video, Audio, Data. Very early USB was intended to replace the PS/2 and AT connectors still in use at the time. Serial mouse were even contemporary. When peripherals starting requiring more power they had to quickly implement the USB 1.1 standard. Many a burned out motherboard because of a cheap simple LED light up mouse from China drawing too much current. They even made the same mistake with PCIe 1.0. I think Abit got a class action suite against them for melty motherboards.

I would agree that re-arranging the peripherals might be a worthwhile test. I had Corsair Link pretty well working in Windows 7, not so much in 8 and 8.1, didn't try with 10. Onboard firmware has happy enough to remember my settings from when it was working, and I stopped using its fan control features.

Okay so I did some more searching around after doing those things you guys mentioned above with no luck.....I think I might know why, however I am not sure how to remedy the situation.

I saw on Corsairs forum someone mentioning looking for drivers.... by typing in dism /online /get-drivers /format:table | find "Corsair"
command in cmdprompt -- I got nothing, nothing showed up at all.

So I will upload 2 pictures of my device manager and maybe that will help out a bit with whats wrong?

UPDATED:

http://oi63.tinypic.com/2ey97qu.jpg - This picture was the first one I took, nothing Corsair related in the USB drop menu. Until, I right clicked on the H100iGTXCooler and searched specifically in the Silabs folder for drivers since it didn't find them automatically.

It updated, I think.... and this is what my device manager looks like now. http://oi64.tinypic.com/351hcsw.jpg -- No more "Other Devices" that lists the H100i GTXCooler, but now there is something in the USB drop menu. Which does appear to be up to date however....the "issue" message that I receive is :

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Try right clicking and uninstalling the device with the yellow exclamation mark. Then tell Windows to find devices again. Maybe the driver didn;t install properly.

What version of Corsair Link are you installing?

I have run it on 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 and as I said short of needing to do a work around temporarily in 8.1 it has worked every time for me.

Version : 3.2.5742

I sent the same thing to Corsair tech support to see what they had to say and they told me initially "The Windows drivers might say that, but it shouldn't be an issue to have the cooler work with Corsair Link."

Then got another reply saying the following "The windows drivers might currently give you issues, this is a problem we're looking into." so I mentioned reading on the forums that their drivers aren't being signed, therefore microsoft is rejecting them and he told me that was correct and their engineers/developers are looking into it.

Now I did gather all that information, however I am not 100% sure what it means or even how some people are able to get it to work while others are having to jump fences in order to get it to work.
