Hello,
I'm going to put together a computer with my 12YO for PC Gaming. At first we were going to buy one that was already put together, but he would like to work on one with me as a project. I have budgeted about $700. I think I have about everything except the OS... which I will get from Reddit.

He will primarily use the build for gaming. But will edit gaming videos captured from an elgato and webcam

After several weeks of lurking the forum, I've put together this list from PC Parts Picker. Please give me your thoughts. I would appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks in advance- greg

I see no need of a Z97 especially a cheap one. I'd get a different motherboard and spend savings on a better PSU.

If I were you, I would spend I tiny bit more and spring for 16 gb of ram, you know, for future proofing and all that.

You have a link to those reviews? Because I can't find any by a trusted reviewer and the fact that its Raidmax and made by HEC point to it being a not so good PSU.

Fantastic! That's what I'll do.
I see you picked a different case as well. It looks as if Amazon Prime has your recommended case in Orange for $49. and since we do graphics, it won't be a problem to change the color.
Thanks for your help!
