Brand new build:
MSI z97 gaming 5
Gskill ripjaws 8 gb
Intel i5 4460
Cooler Master Hyper evo 212
EVGA Supernova NEX 650W
MSI Radeon r9 390

I just built this computer this weekend and it booted fine and I installed Windows 10 and the driver for the motherboard. Then 15 minutes later while I was setting up the drivers the screen went blank.

The graphics card and fans light up/spin as well as the "audio boost" light on the mother board however, the on board "debug" led does not light up. This makes me think that the motherboard is dead and the problem is not with the power supply

Things I have checked:
dual channel Ram is in correct position
CPU has no bent pins

Its odd that the computer worked for 20 minutes and cut off. I need to know if a part is broken and which part it is so that I can return it.

Thank you! Please help

Solution
Try leaving only CPU, CPU cooler and a case fan installed, both 24 and 8 pin power cables connected. No other components and wires than the case power switch ones, for starting the board.
Start the board. See if both fans are spinning and if any debug code.

Are your JFP 1 and JFP 2 ports plugged in correctly. It can be easy to accidentally mismatch the positive ends with the negative on a couple of those which could short your board.
