installed new ram ddr2 2gb but i only hear 3 long beeps

Hi, so today I bought new 2gb (1x2gb) ddr2 pc2-3200 ram and i installed it in my pc, I only heared 3 long beeps. My motherboard is Intel dg31pr, and also i have older stick of ram which is also 2gb ddr2 and they work fine, but when i put my new stick in the motherbord I only hear three long beeps

Links or images are not working. According to the specifications for your motherboard, it only supports DDR2-667/800 RAM. You purchased DDR2-400 RAM. I would attempt to return the new RAM in exchange for RAM that matches your current.

what slots are you using? what speed is the ram? is it one 2gb stick, or 2 1gb sticks?

My both slots are working I tried them with my old ram, but when I put both or only the new ram i hear three long beeps.
The new ram is 2gb (1x2gb) and the old ram is the same 2gb (1x2gb)
