What part of your system is not performing well?

I could recommend a new intel cpu and motherboard and easily use up all of your cash but if you are already happy with your current cpu and motherboard then that would be pointless.

Your build looks good. There is nothing missing that you would want unless you can get more specific for us.

Get a i5 4590 $185 (amazon) and msi z97 pc mate $85 (amazon) and then a new GPU. R9 380x looks quite good and is $230 also from amazon. This will add up to $500 and you will get a very nice upgrade.

4690K is a great chip...but I think the OP has a good CPU already, would personally opt for a better GPU.

On a side note, I really wish intel would take a note from AMD's playbook (i.e., AM3+) and STOP changing chipsets/pin cfg for *nearly* every CPU generation. I understand Skylake's need to different DIMMs on DDR4...but it's a PITA to need a whole new board for a CPU upgrade, both in cost and time taken to rip everything out again.
