Why does my GTX 980 ti run games slower when SLI is turned on then when I have them turned off?

So I have ran this experiment when I thought I noticed either no change or a drop in fps when turning on the SLI with my EVGA 980 ti SC ACx 2.0 cards. Recent Games like Assassins Creed Syndicate, Rainbow Six Siege, Fallout 4, etc. They seem to run either the same 5fps range as no sli or they actually run about 5 fps faster when sli is turned off. Why would this happen? I am running Windows 10. I have a I7 5820k CPU Overclocked to 4.GHz, 32 GB of 2133 DDR4 RAM, 1200 WATT Platinum rated PSU.

Oh and the monitor is an ACER 1ms 144Hz 1080p monitor w.g-sync

Some don't have the support yet, or at all or it's just really crappy right now...same for crossfire. I don't think AC S has sli support at all yet and fallout4, I think it came not too long ago and same with rainbow six but I think they aren't utilizing it yet.
