Does TDP matter between a heatsink and a cpu?

Hi i have an FX 6120 Zambezi cpu with a 95w TDP, i want to upgrade my cpu heatsink, the heatsink im looking at is a DARK ROCK 3 SilentWings CPU Cooler with a 190W TDP. I was wondering is it ok to have the different numbers for the TDP? Or if i should stick to a heatsink that only has 95w TDP?

TDP is the amount of power the object takes up. It doesn't matter how much wattage the cooler is, the only problem you'll have with the TDP is in the case that your Power Supply can't supply the power needed to make the computer work. In that case the whole computer won't work because it isn't recieving enough power.

TDP in this sense is more referring to the amount of heat the cooler is able to dissipate under normal use. So you don't want to put an 84W TDP cooler onto a 130W TDP CPU because the CPU could in theory produce more heat than the cooler can safely remove. It will likely work "under normal use" but as soon as you ask it to do some serious work, it could trigger power supply/motherboard shut-off protections.
