I happen to have two power plug in's on my Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard, labeled EATX12V and EATX12V_2. #1 is a 6 pin (maybe 8, dont remember) plug in, pretty big, #2 is a 4 pin. Only the first is plugged in and I have a stable 4.5GHz OC. Should the second be plugged in? I wouldn't personally think so since I have a huge OC and am stable without it, but just curious. Perhaps if I plugged the second in, I could achieve an even higher OC? That's just my theory at least, what should actually be done? Anything?

The other plug in is for supplemental power to the PCIE lanes. Basically extra power for running things like video cards and what not, it should't affect your CPU. If you're going to run SLI or Crossfire (depending on the card) then Id plug it in.

That's actually just the answer I might have needed. My second 980 arrived today and I've been having issues with them only running in x8 mode. That may solve it.....:D Thank you!
