Running Cables Under a Road?

I finally convinced a nearby ISP to come through my backyard to service my home (they don't provide for my road, but they do provide for the road my backyard touches); however, when they arrived to set everything up, they realized that the cables came from the opposite side of the road that my backyard touches and said they probably wouldn't do anything else for me since it was already a special case. What I'm asking for is if there is anyway to A) convince them to go under or B) do something on my own and have them use that?

Nothing you will say will change their minds. The amount of money in man hours they would have to spend to do you that service wouldn't be worth it to them. You could try to run some pipeing of some type under the road if there are no culverts around your area. But that is easier said than done. It will be fairly difficult for you without the proper tools and you may need to get permission from your county. If you could get a route in place, they may come back and do the cable run for you.

Probably nothing you can do on your own. Going under a public road would require directional boring equipment to keep from tearing up the road.
