MSI 970 Gaming compatibility

Hello! I'm going to upgrade my system and give the "old" parts to my a friend of mine, who recently bought a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard.

Is that board compatible with an AMD Phenom II X4 970 BE? I took a look at the compatibility list, where I saw that it's compatible with a "z970"... but I don't know if it's the same CPU.

I think Valnac was confused and thought you were talking about an MSI Z97 Motherboard which only supports Intel Processors.

In this case, yes, the MSI 970 Motherboard supports Phenom II CPU's
