A month ago I bought this surge protector for my new computer. A few days ago there were power outages (I think two - the power went out, then on for a short period of time and out again). A few hours after the outages I noticed the LED for Surge protection isn't on. I tried the surge protector in another plug, but the LED was still off. Should I go and replace the surge protector or is it possible that only the LED isn't working?

Solution
You will need a new surge protector, every time the power came back on it will have caused a large surge ,this will have ultimately destroyed the protection unit as they are sacrificial.
You should replace the surge suppressor. I would think you are still under warranty, if so, APC will replace the surge suppressor for free. I would conclude that the green led not being lit means it no longer provides protection (I'd suspect it did it's job though).
