I boot up my PC and it runs fine for a while but then suddenly videos, gifs and games start getting choppy and laggy. I have a feeling its video realted since it happened a few weeks ago and what fixed it was updating the graphics drivers, which I tried but to no effect. My PC specs are:

Intel Pentium Dual Core CPU E6700 3.20 GHz
4 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT 630

67 degrees is hot. If im not mistaken the max temp for that processor is around 70 degrees. Try re-applying thermal paste. I have an I7 4790 that never goes over 40 degrees with air cooling.

So it is most probably a cooling problem, since I just noticed i can't hear the fan making noise like it used to.

Today i blew the dust off my Pc and replaced the thermal paste. The temperatures no longer go abve 60 degrees but the problem with the slowing still occurs after about 20 minutes of using. It's even worse now.

UPDATE: I got really frustrated a few hours ago, opened task manager and just closed the first process that was taking up too much of my CPU. I didn't even see the name of it. The temperature decreased after that and my PC's performance was back to normal. I have no idea what I did, but I hope it worked for good. Thank you for the reples anyway.

YET ANOTHER UPDATE: The process is called ctfhost.exe and it appears around 30 minutes after I boot up the computer. This is how it looks:

I'm looking for a permanent fix to it right now.

I had a similar problem to this one and the solution is easy. Go to task manager and right click on the CTFhost process. Then click open file location, if it's not in system32, delete it. Problem solved. If it IS in system32 just end the process, it most likely wont start back up and you'll be fine until you reboot, then end it again. My problem was exactly the same as yours except off by two letters, my little virus was called CFGhost.exe and if my suspicions are correct ctfhost.exe is located in your appdata

I removed it with a program called freefixer. It detected it under "scheduled processes". Thanks for the help.
