Hey guys I'm a student looking to build my first computer and I need some suggestions to improve/fill in my build or some opinions in general.

Motherboard: AMD Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
CPU: Intel i5-4590 quad core 3.3 GHz
Cooling fan:
GPU: Visiontek AMD Radeon R9 380
Casing:
Power Source:
Hard drive: WD Blue 1TB HDD
RAM Sticks: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4GB x2

Thanks

Yes, to start that mobo won't work with that CPU ;) Good choice for CPU, but it will need an INtel based socket 1150 mobo, since it's a non-OCing CPU (non-K model) I'd suggest an H97 mobo, something like the Asus H97-Plus.

Since it's not OCable, you can get by with the stock CPU cooler that comes with it.

GPU is fine, might pick up a SeaSonic 520 power supply

You don't indicate what speed of DRAM would look at 1866, I'd go GSkill 1866/9 in Ripjaws X or their Sniper line of sticks
