Hello, I am gathering a new computer and i already own 2X4 gb ram and thinkin about gettin another 2 gb to make it 16, does it work or should i get seperate 16 gb?

Solution

Mixing RAM sometimes does not work.
Even with the same brand/model/size/timing.

Get 1 16GB kit for your new PC.

And this:
"i already own 2X4 gb ram and thinkin about gettin another 2 gb to make it 16"

Does not make 16. 4+4+2 = 10.

Mixing different types of RAM is just fine... some people live by the rule that you should never do that for best performance but from my experience... it's never been an issue... so go for it.

Thank your for your reply, i want to ask another question if you let me, is there a huge difference between 1600 mhz and 1833?

In theory, 14% max.
However, you can't look at RAM speed in isolation. What is the rest of the system?
