hardware reserved need help

i have 12gb of ram and only 6gb is useable i am running windows 10 64bit and i have 2x4gb and 2x2gb ram my pc spec are below

amd am3+ fx-8320 overclocked
gigabyte 970A-D3P rev 2.0
2x4gb kingston hyderX t1
2x2gb adata
amd hd 7950 gigabyte oc
160gb samsung
1tb 2.5 samsung
coolermaster hyper 212x
evga nex650g

When did you upgrade the ram and if so which ones did you add? Try running with each stick and at one time. Then run each pair at a time. see if it shows the full size. If it does and only reserves it when all 4 are in then the two pairs are incompatible with each other.

this is a new build the main ones i was using are the kingston ones but was only showing 4gb useable out of 8gb so i found my old pc and took the ram from it and put in the exrta 4gb

How are the sticks inserted - slotwise from CPU (4-2-4-2 is optimal if the sticks will all play), I'm guessing the EVO may be too tight, try loosening the 212 then snug it back down. Also can try raising DRAM voltage + 0.06 and set the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25 as four sticks and mixed sticks are placing a heavy load on your MC (memory controller), the CPU/NB feeds the MC

Will have to keep that one in mind!

And yea sometime mixing sticks, especially high end ones, and not having them in the proper order will cause this. Make sure they are in the right order. Also their timings could be off, voltage could be different etc.

i have fix it 2 of the slots are hardware lock and the other 2 are not now i an getting 8gb as i took out the 2x2gb ones as they were a lot slower than the hyderx t1
