Hey,
So I'm new to this mainly been using the forums as a guide and never actually posted anything until now. Recently I put together my own PC running the following specs:
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
Video Card: MSI GTX980
CPU: i7 4790k
Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz (2 x 8gb)

My issue is that my computer will continuously restart itself when my ram sticks are plugged in to dimm slots 2 and 4 which is the configuration stated in the manual, but it doesn't actually work for me so I completed a few different configurations of ram.
dimm slots 1 and 2 : Boots
dimm slot 2: Boots
Anything including dimm slots 3 and 4 : restarts continuously
dimm slot 1 : restarts continuously
Is there any solution to this that you guys can think of noting I have alread updated the bios and I'm not sure what else I can do.

Thanks.

Guessing you have a third party cooler - try loosening it, then snug it back down screw tight, many overtighten in a corner or side which can throw the CPU slightly out of level which in turn can throw the MC (memory controller) off
