Hey,
I'm getting a Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X (not OC, its clockspeed is 1114MHz I think), however my current PSU is a Corsair VS550. According to Gigabyte's specs, a 550W PSU with a 6 pin and 8 pin connector (like mine) is sufficient, but I'd like to know a few things:
1) Is it safe to use this PSU with this card?
2) Will the card under-perform in any way as a result of having this PSU?
I actually have a Corsair RM 850i PSU, however I went to install it and it turns out it's faulty! I'd bought it to upgrade my PSU before my 970 arrived, but since I can't upgrade yet I was wondering if it's gonna be okay to use my VS550 for a while.
Cheers for any help
EDIT: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz, 8Gb DDR3 RAM, Seagate Barracuda 1Tb 7200RPM HDD, Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 mobo, DVD drive, 3 case fans = specs.
