I tried all of the steps at: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

So it starts for just a sec then turns off without any video output. I also pulled out the cmos battery and reset the cmos. It was a real pain getting the heat sink on this motherboard. I don't have a dmm(digital multimeter) or I would test the power supply myself. I am unsure what else to do. I really hate to think it's the motherboard as I got it on amazon and don't want to have to return it. At least the power supply came from new egg. I was very cautious about static the whole way, and I have no reason to think I did anything wrong... Super frustrating was so excited :fou: lol

use a usb stick and the mb usb flashback port make sure the mb has the newest bios file on it. with asus the last 4 numbers of the mb serial lable are the bios rev. there is on toms hardware main web page of a warning for people with the new skylake cpu and air coolers. people have found out that the newer cpu are thinner then the old ones and have been shorted/snapped with new coolers that place more then 50 pounds of force on the cpu. if you can see if anything changes if you losen up the cooler. if it not the cooler could be bent pins or a cpu seating issue.

I'll look into the usb flashback. I have heard about the skylake processors bending, and was very cautious when putting it on, though it was strange how as highly rated as the phantek was, it wasn't easy to mount at all. Unfortunately I guess I'm not getting a refund if it did bend huh >_<. if that's the case there goes 400 $ thanks intel. :fou:
