Weird startup issues

Hi,

My Compaq Evo d510 just had a major repair. I've successfully replaced the motherboard, power supply, and processor with a full cleanout. I've left it alone for about 2 weeks, and when I turned it back on, the computer greeted me with a red blinking light, which was diagnosed as a "ROM error". I manually reset the CMOS using the button on the motherboard, and what happens next is weird. I plugged in the power cable, and the machine is trying rapidly to boot up, almost exactly like trying to start up a dead car, then after about 15 seconds, it succeeds and it's running like normal. Is there anything I should do while the computer is still on?

Thanks, Luke

Storage: 20GB Maxtor 7200RPM Hard Drive
Memory: 2GB DDR 266MHz RAM
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Mobo: 277977‑001
Power Supply: 274427-001
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz (SL67z)

I turned off the computer to save energy and after leaving it for a night it won't power on. No lights on the motherboard, hard drive, or fans. The power supply, processor, and motherboard are only ~1 month old and same model as the old ones, which lasted 10+ years. I know the parts are crappy, but it was a really good backup computer and i'd like to continue using it.

Thanks for the assistance! The BIOS is the same as the old motherboard, and it was running for a week before these issues. I've replaced the CMOS battery, and now there's no lights on the motherboard or any sign of life. Tried different power cables and outlets, no cigar.
