Fan spinning really fast, stops, then starts again.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask for help. So recently I just got a HP ENVY x360 - 15-w155nr and everything works fine, but the problem I'm having is that whenever I open up and play a game the fan starts spinning very fast. I had a much older laptop run the same games, like League of Legends fine without any problems. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, if it's not is there a way to stop the fan from spinning so fast or at least reduce it a little. And if this is normal would continuing to play games hurt my laptop? Thanks in advance :)

The fan spinning means that the cpu is being cooled the computer will shut down before you do any damage, but you do NOT want to slow them down. You need to keep your processor cool. My laptop sounds like a jet sometimes.
