USB Device getting disconnected

I swapped out my AMD FX-8150 and BIOSTAR TA-990FXE board with an Intel i5-4690K and ASUS Z97-A board.

I've been using a USB Wireless adapter for years on my AMD system with no issues. But now with the Z97 board it randomly disconnects my Wireless USB Adapter. It's not just kicking me off the network, It's disconnecting the device itself and goes into an infinite new hardware/hardware disconnected loop until I unplug it and plug it back in, then it works again.

NOTE: I did not do a clean Windows 10 install when i swapped the hardware, though I think I did a pretty good job of cleaning up the old AMD drivers and installed the new ones. Think it just needs a new Windows installation or is there an easier fix?

Solution
You absoloutly have to reformat with windows 10 again. During the first installation windows installs critical drivers for you specific motherboard and processor. I would also suggest flashing the bios first to see if its a bios issue. Because Z97 is still new they are constantly patching bios bugs still. Congrats on the upgrade you went from eating kraft dinner to having steak!

Appreciate the feedback. I'll start backing up what I need and get ready for a fresh install. Thanks!

unfortunately that did not solve the issue. Fresh install of Windows 10 fully updated and with all drivers and still Windows will disconnect my wireless device then immediately reconnect it. If I was only surfing the web this wouldnt be a big deal but losing connection for even a fraction of a second in a game will cause you to be booted out of the server or game :(

Do you know what model of wifi adapter it is? Look up online for the newest windows 10 driver from the actual wifi adapters win 10 driver. Sometimes windows installs an incorrect or not fully functional driver. The manufacture always has the best driver

I didn't let Windows install the drivers... I installed them myself.

I was using a Ubiquiti WifiStationEXT. Drivers worked and everything but it would constantly get disconnected from my computer (Again not just the network, the device would come disconnected). I siwtched it out with an older Belkin Surf and Share little thumb adapter and it seems to have been working for a few days without any issues. Pretty sure the Belkin is an even older device than the Ubiquiti WifiStationEXT but I could be wrong.
