I'm about to upgrade my processor from a AMD A4-6300 APU to an AMD Athlon X4 760K His motherboard is a MSI A68HM-E33

Should I update my bios before installing the new cpu or will it work without the bios update?

Msis website will have a list of compatible cpus and what bios rev is required for the supported cpus.

it has a download link for the bios version needed. you can see if this is newer than what is on the mobo now this way
