SOLVED thank you
my internet connects through a linksys router to a wired connection to my tower's ethernet card.
i have a dual boot system with win 8.1 on both boots
often times i will have to use "diagnose" on the network adapter when booting into the other OS to get internet access working. "diagnose" comes back with "DHCP is not enabled..." (sorry, can't remember the exact phrase). Then I click "fix this issue" and windows fixes it, the internet is up and everything is fine.
After doing this for a long time, today for some reason one of the two OS's that I boot into has no internet access. On "Status" for the ethernet adapter says it "no internet access" for IPv4 connectivity. The upstream/downstream is very small. I have tried disabling adapter and re-enabling, no help. I have tried rebooting both the router and the cable modem, no help.
Any ideas? Thank you
