Hello everyone. I just upgraded my platform to Skylake. I would like to ask whether any of my components are a bottleneck that hampers performance. Computer is used for the usual everyday stuff plus gaming.
I do plan to OC so i ordered two replacement 120mm fans for an H70 cooler, Noctua fans.

Cpu: Skylake Core i7 6700k
Mobo: MSI Z170A Gaming M5
Cooler: Corsair H70
GPU: ASUS Strix GTX970
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb DDR4
SSD: Kingston V300 240gb
HDD: Toshiba 3TB 7200rmp
PSU: OCZ 1000w gold
Case: Cooler Master HAF-X
Drives: HP and ASUS dvd burners.

You are 110% correct - that word in this context is like nails on a chalkboard to me. The HDD is slower than the SSD - that's a bottleneck. They are both slower than the bandwidth of the memory - so the bus speed is a bottle neck....it goes on and on. We will have system limitations as long as we have systems.

I know what these people are wanting to know - but it's like asking if a car will get me from here to there and asking if the engine or the transmission is a limiting factor to your ability to get there (not how fast, but how reliable).

What this person is really wanting to know is if...

What this person is really wanting to know is if he will get good utilization and good performance while running games and performing work. The fundamental answer is yes - it looks good and you should not want for more.

Thanks for your responses. I will leave it just like it is.
I chose this PSU because I keep it for as long as I can. It's about 6 years old and running strong.
My philosophy is: buy it once, buy it right.
I hope to keep it for the next 6 years.
