So im switching from Intel:
GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3(R2.0) LGA 1155
Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge

To AMD:
GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H FM2+ / FM2 AMD A88X (Bolton D4)
AMD Athlon X4 860K Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7 GHz

Remaining parts remain the same.

I was running Windows 7 on old build, however i believe either the CPU or Mobo died and wont boot. Went throught the steps etc.

Now my question is, can i simply switch out and be good to go, what steps will i need to take, Re-Install Windows 7?

Assuming the hard drive will wipe, will i have problems using the old Hard Drive with old data apon boot-up.

You will need to do a clean install, as the drivers will all differ and you will most likely get a BSOD if you just try to boot from the old HDD.

If your Windows 7 was a retail version, you can just do a clean re-installation with your installer disk. Windows 7 OEM cannot be moved to a new machine under the license for OEM versions though.

Wiping the drive is no problem. Simply back up your data and then select custom installation and as a first step delete the existing partitions and allow W7 to install to the remaining single unpartitioned space.
