I 'm a newbie at building PC's, but about to start on my first project soon!
I bought a CPU/Motherboard Combo at Microcenter on BF, but since the MSI Gaming 5 was out of stock, I ended up with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer for a really low price (64 ar) instead. (not the Z97X version), the Processor is the i5 4690k
after reading some more about it, it seems it's not the best choice.
Now microcenter has offered to exchange it for a MSI Gaming 5 this week, I will just have to pay the difference, but keep the bundle discount.
My question is, is it worth my while doing this, or should I stick with the ASRock. any other options in this price bracket ($100-140) I should consider?
I will be mainly using it for Audio recording, but my son will use it for some gaming, he is only just getting into gaming, but I want it to be good enough for the next couple of years.
