According to your notebook's product specification page it shows up as being capable of upgrading upto 8GB of ram but what it doesn't state is if your system is designated to run with DDR3/1.5v rams or DDR3L/1.35v rams. The L denotes low voltage between other ram sticks/kits.

Though I can't tell what went wrong as the title bar isn't long enough to see. Can you please make a follow up to your post with the issue? Can you also list the ram specs that was pre-installed in your notebook? That should help us with a bearing.

* According to Toshiba's support page, you'll require DDR3 ram that runs at 1.5v and not the low voltage version though to be sure when you pop open your cover you should see the voltage stated/embossed/engraved on the slots where you populate the rams.
** I double checked on crucial as well they don't have C655d-S5518 in their drop down menu but C655d-S5514 thus the mix up, I think...?
