Please read all I have written , this is not a common RAM problem. So, here's my problem, I bought and installed 2x4 GB of RAM memory(I bought this with all the required specifics for my laptop), after replacing the old memory with the new one the laptop won't boot anymore, it just stops at ,,Starting windows''.However after I read a bunch of articles about this kind of issue i managed to get pass the ''Starting windows problem'' by going to msconfig and check the maximum memory box.Now here's the big problem:It shows me this
8.00 GB(2,99 usable). If i go msconfig and uncheck the maximum memory box (as most of the tutorials say)then i go straight back to the initial problem (It stops at ,,Starting windows'').
I use the following:
Dell Inspiron N5010
Windows 7 x64 bit
Thank you in advance and sorry for my english mistakes above. If you need more informations just tell me.

I always have max memory checked, you just have to make sure that the number next to it is all the way up, i think it should be around 8128 or something for 8gb. Just hold down the up arrow until it stops.

I guess they could've given you a back stick? Try each one individually and see what it does because with 1 bad stick and windows using around 1 gig you would have somewhere near 2.99gb usable.
