sorry i did not notice you had picked out a micro-atx case. no biggie really as the h97 anniversary also comes in micro atx size :)

does not change the price at all. i believe you said you already had the case. if not there are plenty of nice cases that are pretty cheap to chose form in mid-tower and other sizes as well. there is no performance difference with going either way, it is simply the size of the box holding all the parts.

neither of those power supplies is very good. for the same $50 you can get a much better unit that can actually handle an overclock.

here is a solid choice.

what kind of budget are you looking at? i'm sure you can do a little better than a 750ti and possibly even the 860k. but need to know a budget

the cpu comes with the cooler, though any major overclocking will leave you wanting aftermarket cooling. the stock cooler is not designed for overclocking only to cool the cpu at stock speeds. a minor oc is fine but anything major will probably want better cooling to go with it

Well ive totalled everything up all the way from internal with a keyboard and im at 683 dollars so my budget wont be any higher than 700 im just looking to play games at 1080p, also would a 600 watt corasir be good for overclocking as well

Ill be able to go without overclocking though its not that be of a deal, but what im asking is that will an athlon 860k cpu, gtx 750 ti 2gb gpu, and a corsair cx 600watt get , good frames on almost every game playing on high to medium resolution

i have to head out for a while but if you still wish to explore some, i can offer some suggestions better than the athlon and 750ti foe the money as can a few others i am sure.

i'll check back in shortly and then do some part picking to show how much better you can do for the money. do you need an os, case and other parts as well or just the guts of the machine to put into a case you already have?

ok for under $700 here is a complete system without a case since you already have that. this is a lot better than an athlon and sports and i5, 8 gb ram, and an r9-380 which is solid for 1080p gaming. it is locked so no overclocking which saves money on the mobo and cooling which is put into better graphics.

i looked at an i3 but the money saved really does not go very much further for the gpu inside the budget. this is a very solid machine and has room to grow as you want to upgrade the gpu. you can run most any card with the psu so won't have to upgrade it in the future.

compared to an athlon and 750ti this is light years better!!

the 6300 has very weak single cores compared to the newer intel chips like the pentium, i3 and i5's. even though it has 6 cores most games are only going to use 2 of them and at most 4 of them. the other 2 cores sit idle doing nothing. this is why it is a better choice over the 6300. however, i do not like the pentium as it is only a dual core. some games are already coming out that need 4 cores minimum. so you can't even play it on the pentium. i would stretch for an i3 before going with a Pentium for a gaming rig. it is a cheap cpu however and could be a nice stopgap until you can afford to upgrade it to an i3 or i5 so it would make sense on a short term basis. the 6300 does not have any real upgrade path other than the 8 core fx cpu's that still won't use all the cores for a game. considering i already fit an i5 into your budget, there really is no need to consider either a 6300 or a pentium :D

Did I just see that the g3258 is a beast in games ? No way . It stutters and has 2 cores . It's terrible for gaming now. And it doesn't beat the fx 6300 . I recommend going only for the fx 6300 if your going to play games and record . Or video edit and stuff like that . It's a very good cpu . No struggle and it's quick . Its a overall solid choice . No need for asrock . As it has very low quality I recommend you get gigabyte . There is also no need for a aniversarry board either . So get the fx 6300 with a gigabytes board . It works wonders .
