So this past month I have been trying to build a medium/high setting gaming HTPC from an old Dell vostro 230 to use with my projector. However I am not totally sure how my build will turn out so I am hoping to get some input from you guys.

Current build:

Motherboard: 7N90W
CPU: Pentium(R) Duel-Core e5400 @ 2.70GHz
Ram: 4gb DDR3
Graphics Card: Zotac GT520 1gb
Power Supply: 300 watts

Components I am thinking to buy/add with the prices I am able to get them:

Processor: Q9550 (12M Cache, 2.83 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB) : $70
Grapics Card: EVGA GTX 750ti SC ( 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5): $100

Down the line I might change the PSU but I have read that I wont be really needing to.

Games I am hoping to play at 30-60FPS:
Dirt 3
Serious Sam
Emulators
Most Source Games
Far cry
Fallout 4
COD
Etc

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for being so late to the original post date. I would suggest upgrading to 8gb of ram. It does work. Im using the same mb with a q9300 and just installed a 2x4gb kit of gskill ripjaws ram the other day and it works.
