So my pentium needs 1.325v to hit 4.2ghz i just run at 4.0 and 1.25v tho to keep the temps at 60 and am considering trying another one to hit 4.5ghz but my question is how much of a performance boost would that give me? I got this one on sale for a whoppin 50 bucks so gettin a full price back probably wont be a problem but if that would only give me like a 5 fps increase it wouldnt be worth the hassle. any thoughts would be appreciated

its a hasswell. its a lotto when it comes to overclocking. Mine takes 1.4v for 4.7ghz (on air) and won't move past that. Just sits at 78c. Make sure you increase the ring ratio/cache multiplier and voltage or 4.0ghz will be near the limits without changing those too.

A lot of people forget about the ring ratio voltage and multiplier and only raise the CPU voltage and mutli.

Ya the 4.0is with ring at 3.6 the 4.2 with ring at stock 3.2 been playing with every setting i understood in my bios for a month after reading guides hours on end and im pretty confident that i got some bad silicone mobo is a asus z97a btw so that sure cant be a problem i just dont know how much of a performance gain i can get if i could run 4.5 ill be upgrading to an i7 eventually for hyper threading and "future resistance" but still need to get a new gpu and psu first so ill be looking at saving about 700 or more total depending on gpu i get so ill be stuck with the cheap ole pentium for a long while
