I am trying to utilize that final open Motherboard USB Socket. On my X99 I have several old school USB2 sockets for things like front panel case usb ports and liquid cooling block data+power.
My Cooler Master 935 have also 2 USB 3 Front ports. That cable is also connected to my motherboard USB3 socket.
That leaves me with one socket left empty. I am trying to get some kind of a front panel that use USB3 socket on motherboard. I guess I'd want to have solid CF / SD and Micro SD reader slots + may be LCD that readout ambient temps inside.

Any recommendations ?

You see something like this looks cheap to me. Yet it does things I want like card reader and Temp sensors but I want something that looks a bit nicer.

Usually with things that are made to do multiple things at one given time, the device tends to blow up unexpectedly. Fan controllers work by adding resistance to the circuitry feeding upto a fan and thus will generate heat in the area of regulation i.e right behind the fan controller knob.

Something like this could be a good buy though I'm not quite sure if you'd like to populate your drive bay with a device that runs off USB3.0. On the other hand I can see you populating your 5.25" drive bay's where one would go for the card reader and another will be for your fan controller/temperature read out. In the case of the later I'd suggest you move to a Lamptron(FC-5 V3 or a V2) fan controller.

This isn't...

This isn't USB3.0 but I think it fits your bill with the temperature readout and fan controller+the card reader. This may also be something worth looking into.
