Wiped with dban. Won't work. Please help!

I wiped a powerspecb667 with dban to reinstall windows 8.1 on a used pc and now I just have a black screen and the pc won't boot the windows disk. I need to get this thing going. Please help!

Did you try the dvd drive first to see that it worked since it's a used PC. Wiping a HD will have NO impact on a Windows DVD booting at all. A Windows DVD will boot without any HD at all, so your DVD could be bad or the DVD or the boot order in the BIOS.

No when you say black screen though, do you still get to the BIOS?

Hey Getochkn. The drive was working. Unfortunately I don't even get the bios. I restarted the pc and tried to enter the BIOS, but I get nothing. The blue Powerspec screen doesn't even appear. I also installed 4 extra gigs of ram, so I'm not sure if that did anything? I was very careful not to touch the motherboard. While the power chord was plugged into the wall I inserted it into the back of the machine and heard a noise. Would that do anything? My other thought is that my monitor isn't working because it says no signal. Thanks for your help!
