Is there an option I'm missing in the control panel or something? Ever since I installed this card I've noticed sounds being reduced from every source when someone starts talking or something like that. If I have a game open my music is reduced by like 80% volume. Yes, I have windows sound option set to "do nothing". It's terrible when I'm trying to listen for sounds in CSGO the game gets close to muted when someone starts calling something out....

Solution
right-click audio icon-> playback devices-> communications.

I'm not clear on what you're doing with MUSIC, but it may be what's triggering this. You can try selecting "DO NOTHING".

Also, run a game without music or other audio sources running.

Again, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "music" and how that's setup.

Other:
If you don't have Windows 10, it may be a good time to do that. Plan carefully and do a CLEAN INSTALL. Often this solves issues that crop up over time.

Here's an example:
1. Download MS Media creation tool, run and burn USB stick (have inserted when starting, choose "other PC".. will make sense or ask)

2. unhook other drives, make sure backed up data, have e-mail/password handy

3. start install, DELETE any...

3. start install, DELETE any partitions on OS drive, continue

4. do NOT put in a key, just skip (MS knows if your pc was activated with W7/W8 and will automatically activate W10 for you)

5. finish, most drivers should be installed, add programs etc. (note you can save your Steam "Steamapps" folder to another drive then move back once you do a clean install of Steam. saves downloading again. MODS are trickier. I make note of which mods are installed, then restore a vanilla backup of the game or if need be download again, then install mods)

*Save games are usually in "Documents" or "Documents->My Games" so I usually save the entire "USER" directory to another drive and copy back folders/data as needed.
