Our buffalo tera station failed after power went out. I just need to get the data out of it. I think the original configuration might be raid 0 with 4 drives. I have a spare dell xps 410 has existing 1 drive with vista on it. I plan to hook up those additional 4 drives temporarily to it. I heard people may need to go to bios and enable the raid. Do I need to do that or I can I just boot to windows and use raid reconstructor or some other software to recover the data?

Unfortunately, if your original array was configured in RAID 0, I'm afraid that you won't be able to recover the data by yourself. It's actually rather risky to do such attempts by yourself.
