Can I still transfer video files if my OS is corrupted?

I recently noticed that whenever I try to do a sfc system check from command prompt, it says that there are corrupt files on my Win 7. Since I don't have the time or the will to reinstall my OS, I was wondering whether it is still possible to transfer video files from my PC to my smartphone, let's say. Will my phone get damaged by the video file (or the file itself), if I am transferring it from a PC with corrupted OS? It has worked so far, I am just worried whether my smartphone's OS will get damaged. Thank you.

The files are separate from the OS as long at the files are not corrupted their will be no issues with the files. if they are corrupted they may not transfer correctly but will cause no damage to the phone you can just delete them if they do not work correctly.

I don't recommend transferring files from your pc to your smartphone. But like you said, if it's worked before without any problems go ahead.
However another safer method is to enslave that harddrive with the bad OS and set another hard drive with a proper OS as primary. And you can recover all contents in that corrupted hard drive safely as it bypasses the corrupt win 7. But having another extra hard drive laying around is the problem. Good luck!
