Crossfire 270x on ASUS M5A97 R2.0

The title says it all, i have 2 gpus both are 270x from gigabyte and i would like to crossfire them. The motherboard has 1 x16 lane and 1 x4 lane, is it possible for me to benefit from crossfire on this motherboard. I really dont want to buy a new one. Recently got these 2 cards from my friend, they are brand new no problems... but I just want to know if i can crossfire them and still get the performance from both cards.

According to the manufacturer's website, yes, the motherboard supports Crossfire: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/overview/

im not asking for opinions, im asking if i will get the performance. I have the 2 gpus in hand, and i have the motherboard. I just want to know if i will get performance of 2 270x's in crossfire on that board.

You should see an improvement, but it won't be the same as 2x 270s... It'll be more like 1.25x 270s.

Crossfire is hardly ever X2. 1.5 is a better crossfire/sli estimate on higher end cards.
