Hi all, and thanks in advance for the assistance. Long time tom's utiliser, first time poster. Having said that, if my questions infringe on an already published / resolved topic please direct me to said resolution without spending effort on a response!

I am currently running mobo ASUS P8Z77-V LE Plus and just want to double check which cables I need to connect (activate) the front USB 3.0 ports. Well, for this chassis the front ports also happen to be on top. My chassis is the Zalman Z11 Plus.

Also, this chassis happened to come with two additional front/top USB ports which run 2.0. Is it possible to convert these to 3.0? If possible, how so? If not, are there alternative methods to getting 3.0 performance from 2.0 ports? Forgive my ignorance or lack of understanding if the response to the latter is an elementary "no".

Please request further information as needed.

Regards,

Linas

Solution
The Chassis should have had a 3.0 cable connection to plug into that board.

Plugs into YELLOW HIGHLIGHTED area.

BadActor, thanks for the reply.

Well when I purchased the mobo and chassis there was no cabling available for connecting the front USB 3.0. What type of cabling would it have been? It seems I have to purchase said cables and make the connections myself.

Thanks

Thank you for the reply seamz and sr-71. That looks like a 20 pin connector for USB 3. Do any of you mind informing me on how to replace front USB 2.0 into 3.0? Or get 3.0 functionality from them? That was the second half of my inquiry. Much appreciated in advance.
