So, the title says it all (mostly). I bought this new cord because my old one was about 2 feet long, and didn't allow for me to move around very much, that and it came loose, so every time I moved with the thing in my hands the controller would come unplugged then just stop being recognized by SCP in general. Now, I got this new 10 foot long cord that works great as a charger on my PS4, yet every time I plug it into my PC it just says "Unknown Device" "Drivers Failed to install" "Malfunctioned Device". I've tried multiple USB ports, both directly from my motherboard and my front hubs, yet nothing changes. What is the issue and how can I possibly fix it.

Solution
That is a very long USB cable, longer than most specs allow.

Unless it is exceptionally good quality chances are that you are losing signal clarity over the distance and your device can't "hear" any communications.
