Hi, I have a gigabyte 78LMT-S2PV, a Samsung ssd 850 evo, two mechanical drives 1tb each, and I was wondering if anyone knew a decent sata driver for my sb710 chipset for windows 8.1, the problem is that using the newer versions of this driver cause cpu spikes, and using the one provided by gigabyte for windows 7 (which works great for win 7) greatly improved speed in ahci but during disk transfers for larger files on the mechanical my system becomes slow and unresponsive even though I have the OS on the ssd... (similar to what happens when you have all data and os on a single mechanical drive and by performing large transfers the system is brought to a crawl). Hope there's something good out there.

In the end I went with the default generic ms sata driver. It works great, the subpar performance must've been due to some of my old bios settings or caused by some of the components I replaced recently.
