Motherboards with Firewire (IEEE 1349) I/O ports?

Someone came and asked me for help assembling a PC with Firewire ports. I know I can get a PCIe adapter, but I was wondering if there were some boards still around that had either headers or ports on the rear I/O panel to support Firewire.

Doesn't have to be for current-generation Intel processors, anything since Ivy Bridge will suffice.

My first couple of searches on Newegg, PCPartpicker and Amazon all ran into no results.

Hello... Ya that TI chip is great... take note of comments/reviews on needed driver/OS install/experience's, and You will be fine... Microsoft and Firewire/USB has always been a professional/political debate... but I'm using WIN 7 & the Windows 2006 TI 1394a driver for my 400 PCI card, and it's rock solid.
Just make sure you have HER/camera connector needs so no adaptors are needed with the Connection... there are a different number now with the 800/400, and some with powered/unpowered connection types.
Hello... if this is for a DAW then the Brand/model of the Firewire chip is important for solid communications and stable operation... typically firewire 400 1394 TI chips PCI cards were my go to, with a 1155 MB and earlier MB's... But now a TI 800/400 chip PCIe cards are available for more modern MB's... If this is just for HD/external backup, then a VIA chip and driver will work.

Firewire MB's were always a specialty version and a higher price... but the use of VIA chips with DAWS was un-predictable and the common practice is to use a Plug in card with a TI chip... So no need to pay extra for it on the MB.

Firewire is a better Communications and DATA transmitter than USB, and was common in early APPLE's and Video camera's ... but the product market has made USB more common for the average Consumer.
